Born out of the heartfelt cry of many, that there needs to be more
social structure for the local soberly-minded community. Anona
(main)Palooza has made its entrance onto the scene with a clear
message -- "Clean and sober fun is indeed good for everyone!"
Since the kickoff back in April of this year, the monthly
coffeehouse has been extremely popular. Averaging over 150 people
at each of the 3 events and with over 200 people in attendance at
the June 6th coffeehouse, it seems quite likely that this engine
will not be losing steam anytime soon.
With such an
overwhelming response, quickly it has become obvious that it is time
to take things to the next level. We are pleased to announce that on
Sunday, July 26, 2009 Anona Palooza
will be hosting the 1st annual Anona Palooza Family Summerfest at
Good Templer Park in Geneva, Illinois.
This event promises to truly be fun for the whole family.
Featuring Four performance stages there will be music varying in
genre from rock to jazz to blues, to folk, funk, punk, hardcore,
metal, and even a little salsa thrown on top for good measure. Not
to mention volleyball, brats, bean bag toss, water balloon toss,
face painting, kids games and a dramatic reading of the late, great
Dr. Suess. Also of interest will be seminars on topics such as My
1st guitar lesson, Songwriting, What are the 12 steps anyways? Are
you my higher power? All of this and an art exhibit to boot! Sounds
like the place to be on July 26th for sure!!!
Also in the works starting in August, we will be hosting 2
events monthly in order to better accommodate the overwhelming
number of musicians, attendees and more importantly, genres. We will
be continuing with the open mic coffeehouse but also will be introducing
band jam night. So, buckle up and stay tuned should be a very exciting ride!
